CHIEF METEOROLOGIST ERIC BRILL – EVENING UPDATE

Monday, March 01, 2021

High pressure is going to hang around Southern Idaho for the rest of the work week and allow for some really nice weather as the first few days of March unfold.

Temperatures through the rest of the work week are going to gain a few degrees here-and-there when it comes to afternoon high temperatures. By Friday/Saturday, most of Southern Idaho is going to be 5-10° above average, which means upper 50s and lower 60s for the Magic Valley and Mini-Cassia Region, while the Wood River Valley can expected middle to upper 40s! Partly cloudy to sunny skies are expected through Friday, and there won’t be much of a breeze to contend with either, so the weather really will be awesome!

A cold front is expected to move through Southern Idaho late Saturday night into Sunday morning. This looks to knock temperatures back to near average values for Sunday and Monday. There also appears to be some showers associated with this cold front that will likely be around late Saturday night into Sunday morning, but it doesn’t appear to be a massive issue at this point. Breezier weather conditions are also expected to be back in Southern Idaho when this cold front ultimately moves through as well. Naturally, since there are more showers within the forecast during this time frame, there will be some more cloud coverage as well.

While this winter has not been particularly cold, it is nice to have some warmer temperatures and overall weather conditions around! Hopefully you were able to enjoy the weather on Monday, and if you weren’t, you have the rest of the work week to embrace!!
